October 2018 – Private visit to the studio of Norman Ackroyd CBE, RA

Norman Ackroyd is one of Britain’s foremost landscape artists. Primarily a painter and printmaker, his works are held in major galleries worldwide including the Tate and British Museum as well as many private collections. He has also produced a number of public mural commissions.

Ackroyd has been likened to Turner in his great love of nature and raging seas. He paints outdoors and, unusually for such a complicated process, he often creates his etchings on the spot when he is working outside. During our visit Norman will explain the process of producing and printing his etchings.
